No, it doesn’t discourage people from making more money, because that’s exactly what they’ll end up with: more money.

As to doctors, I happen to know a doctor that owns like about 5 houses, and I hardly think that is necessary. I don’t think reducing that to maybe, I don’t know… 2, is a big deal.

it obviously doesn’t discourage people from making money. someone who wants to be an entrepeneur and be their own boss doesn’t say ‘you know, i think i’m not going to do this because if i’m successful i’ll have to pay 30% taxes on my 300k in earnings. so i’ll just keep making 50k so i don’t have to pay more taxes.’ i hear people make that argument and it’s just nonsense. someone has to pay the taxes, i’d rather kick the rich while they’re up than kick the poor while they’re down. besides, 64% of people making 250k or more think they should pay more taxes, according to cnbc.
