i have not got many personal assets. Just a car which is worth about £2000.

Just a question : How would you pay 2000 pounds in 3 months when you earn 400 pounds a month ??
I dont think you will get a loan unless your business is prepared to give you a letter which engrosses your salary (say its 1000 pounds per month or something)
Your best bet will still be to go for a credit card but it wont be for 2K i would think.
