  1. Try some local small businesses, doing things like cleaning, painting, packing department etc. You’ll find many not wanting to hire full time staff in this economy so might like the idea of part time worker.

See if you have any local yahoo groups to advertise lawn mowing & your babysitting services. Put up flyers in the neighborhood too. Can you iron? Do laundry for people?

It will also depend on your states labor laws for minors so check them out.

busking, babysitting for various other people (make a flyer), dog walking, house sitting, gardening. McDonalds accepts under 14 yr olds too. You could get a job as a bag boy maybe at a local supermarket or something.

EDIT*** making money online is extremely risky and you should approach it very catiously – get your parents to check out any money-making sites before you sign up.

  3. Look around your neighborhood. Are there any older people who might need help? Lots of them LOVE to hire kids to do yard work, painting, run errands, shop for groceries, walk their dog, almost anything. Some might pay you just to come cook them lunch once a week.

Can you tutor in some subjects? You can charge more for tutoring than for babysitting, and if its a subject you already had you should be fine.

Think about other skills and interests. I know 14 year olds that are great at computers and can make money training or fixing problems or networking. Can you cook? Help out at a flea market? Glean corn? Walk or train dogs?
