Are there any real, legitimate work from home jobs that are not scams or fees you have to pay to start?

I am a mother of two. I work part time and take care of my children. I have been looking for online jobs for the last two years. I have come across scam after scam. Either you have to pay fees to start the jobs, they are pyramid schemes or those stupid surveys that pay close to nothing. Bottom line its stressful and hard. Im not looking to get rich because I know its not that easy. Just looking to make money a few hours a day .

  1. CNN reported that MORE than 99% of these make money at home sites are scams.
    Pure scams.
They could not verify the other 1%.

  2. A good percent of those you hear about, or see as ads on the internet, are scams. Those businesses that are legit, will have a start up cost. Home-based businesses usually require you to purchase some products upfront so that you can resell. I’d be suspicios of the legitimacy of a business that did not have any start up costs whatsoever.

Edit: Also, as far as pyramid schemes, those are illegal. So anything that is an actual pyramid scheme you won’t be likely to come across. Some businesses have a business plan that is shaped like a pyramid, but what business doesn’t? You have the CEO on top, the two vice presidents next, a row of people under them all the way down to the warehouse workers is any business.

  3. Unless you have very specific skills, there are no real internet work at home jobs. You will just be bombarded with all kinds of scams.

  4. Working at home and raising a family is difficult. The job must conform to your schedule, not the other way around; after all, you’re a parent first.

If you have an art and craft hobby (painting, pottery, sewing, etc.) consider selling your creations on Etsy. You can create when your kids are asleep or even playing in the room. Nice thing is that your store is working when you’re not.

I also would be wary of work-from-home opportunities that are free to join. With Etsy, there are no start-up, recurring or membership fees. However, it costs 20 cents to list an item and Etsy takes a 3.5% commission on every sale. That’s it. It’s easy to set up and you could be selling online in minutes. I’ve been with them since March and haven’t had any complaints.

You should never pay a fee to join a legitimate online survey panel. Legitimate panels will never ask you to purchase a product or a service. It seems that you did not come across some of the top online survey panels. The standard compensation is $2 for 20 minutes survey, but may increase knowing that some online survey panels pay more than others, and that hot topics such as new technology and internet usually pay an average of $5. However, small things count and online paid surveys can be a side activity that generates a steady income of more than $200 from the comfort of you home if you can commit at least 40 hours per month. However, the internet has hundreds of websites that are actually scams. Joining legitimate online survey panels and avoiding scams shall be your top priority! I have been a member of several top online survey panels for more than 2 years. For more information, check my recently-published free-resources website at:

  6. There are definitely a ton of scams on the internet, but I am a work at home mother who actually did manage to find a legitimate work from home job. The site is http://www.globaldataentry.net, but they will only hire you if you live in the USA. To apply just go to the website and click the apply button in the top right corner. They do not require you to pay any fees, and you don’t need any prior experience in data entry. I had never done data entry before, and I was accepted for a job there.

The hiring process was pretty easy, for me anyway. I just filled out the application and a few days later a representative of the site contacted me. Basically I told him I had no prior data entry experience, but I was good at typing and familiar with computers. Within 48 hours I was hired as a member of the company. You can choose what tasks you do and how long you work. You get paid by task, not by hour, but it usually works out to a pretty decent wage. I have been making about $800 every month and I rarely work more than 3 or 4 hours a day. They send paychecks every month.

You should stay away from any site that makes you pay money in return for them teaching you how to make money, because in my experience they are all scams. Only sign up for jobs that do not require you to pay anything.
